History of the Minnesota Paranormal Investigators Group
The Minnesota Paranormal Investigators Group (aka MNPIG) was formed in 1991 by John Savage At the start the group began to investigate local cemeteries and known haunted locations in the Twin Cities. Armed with a few cameras, Video recorders and a notebook in hand, the group dove into the realm of the paranormal.
Early investigations focused on several local cemeteries, beginning with Spirit photography. After several months of experimenting with different ideas of spirit photography the group then turned it’s focused on both video and EVP techniques. It was in 1992 that the group had its 1st true ghost haunting investigation. Upon conducting the investigation the group made several majors in the way an investigation is conducted. The group broke up the investigation in to several phases starting from the 1st call for help to the science, and then to the contact of the other side.
During this time John began his journey as mediums with the help and training of local Psychic Echo Bodine. During this time the group began to grow in size from a handful to 15 core members whose duties ranged from interviewing to the tech side of the investigations. The group also grew with the new members who brought new ideas to the way an investigation should be conducted. With views from their religious background and their own personal experiences with in the paranormal.
MNPIGs public prominence grew in 2000 when it recognized by the local media as “Minnesota’s longest runing ghost group” when it was featured in the October issue of “Minnesota Monthly.” Then in 2001 several of their cases were featured in a book called “Ghost Stories of Minnesota” by Gina Teel. The group also made several TV, and radio appearance over the coming years. In 2012 John savage was again mention is “Adventures of a ghost hunter” by Adam Nori.
